We have a very exciting month here at Virtu Arts Theatre!

March 14 | 7:00pm

Join Virtu Arts Theatre for the inaugural On The Burg (OTB) Writers Intensive Community Presentation! After six months of play development led by dramaturg and playwright, Teneile Warren, the OTB playwrights will share their plays in development through heightened storytelling followed by a community conversation.

March 16 | 2:00pm

Join us for an afternoon of Caribbean music and dance at the Liberated Community Movement Jam put on by Virtu Arts Theatre. Open to families and humans of all ages, you will get the opportunity to connect with your body through a series of Caribbean dances.

The representation wasn't there. I wasn't seeing myself. If I was experiencing that and I was only here for probably a few months before I realized that, I can only imagine how someone would have been feeling if they were born here, and they weren't able to see themselves in positions that they wanted to be in or on stages that they wanted to be on. So, we're really here to represent for the Black community in the Region of Waterloo, to be able to advance their careers and stories of our people. Read more here.
